Turner and Komenyaka

The setting of the two wars (Iraq and Vietnam) are very different. The Iraq war can be described as taking place in market squares…just basically a more modernized war in all aspect, from the advance in technology, to the advance in weapons also.  I almost feel as if it was an honor to go to war before and defend your country and whatever principles it stands for, now it’s like we’ve lost sight of those values.  With the war in Iraq it’s safe to say we don’t know exactly who we are fighting. I mean to label a war as “a war on terror” it just sounds unorganized…but then again I know nothing about wars so that’s just a personal view. These two writers have different writing styles and it’s safe to say that they are based on the difference in the wars. Brian Turner is more of a hitting the nail on the head writer with his explanations of the war. His poetry has a concentrated feel to it, whereas Komenyaka  poetry is more relaxed not so hard and forceful.
